Earth Day is an annual event celebrated worldwide in April to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970 and included events coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries. It may be hard to imagine that before 1970, a factory could spew black clouds of toxic smoke into the air or dump tons of hazardous and toxic waste into landfills, which was perfectly legal. There was no Clean Air Act, no U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), no Clean Water Act, and most importantly, no legal or regulatory guidelines or tools to protect our environment. They could not be taken to court to stop illegal dumping.
Recycling is good for the earth, so in honor of the 2023 Earth Day event, Global Paint and Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful encourages you to protect our planet and not abuse it. Please check our TAKE ACTION page for information about organizing a Paint Drive in your community, or to learn more, visit www.globalpaints.org -TAKE ACTION!!

ABOUT US
Global Paint for Charity Inc. (AKA “GPC” or “Global Paint”) is the first sustainable paint waste management and the largest exporter and provider of Latex paint to millions of people in 45 countries in Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, Latin America, as well as nationally underserved communities right here in the United States. Global Paint for Charity helps ecosystems by recycling latex paint products from businesses, residents, and manufacturers that would otherwise end up in the waste stream. The organization brings hope, joy, color, and beauty to communities ravaged by disaster, extreme poverty, or otherwise lack resources. We are leading the way. Global Paint for Charity’s work recycles those leftover paints to beautify the world and transforms people’s lives. We believe a coating of paint on the walls can have a significant, positive, and powerful impact on people’s lives for many years to come.
Under the Environmental Protection Act, it is now illegal to dispose of paints in landfills. In contrast, more than 2.5 billion families have never had access to a painted house in developing countries. In addition, it is estimated that 80 % of the world´s schools in third-world countries face a dreary reality or unpainted walls due to a lack of paint access.
Only 7% of leftover paint in the U.S. is currently recycled. Over 150 million gallons of paint end up as waste every year, and it only takes one gallon to pollute up to 250,000 gallons of drinking water. Global Paint was created to change that. We are an organization working toward sustainable solutions to paint waste.

Know MoreThis Saturday, December 7, 2019, from 10 am-2 pm Riverwood Social Innovators program is hosting a paint drive to benefit Global Paint For Charity. Global Paint for Charity, Inc. (GPC), has embraced the importance of protecting the environment as it enriches the lives of the underserved population around the world. What better way to properly dispose of unused paint that is sitting in your basements, garages, and business inventories than to recycle it to help families in need while receiving a tax deduction for the value of your paint? That’s what GPC has done for the past 9 years.
Global Paint for Charity takes the paint and uses it as a resource to paint underserved communities in third world countries and targeted cities in the U.S.A. For $1 per CAN and $5 per BUCKET we can safely process and recycle your paint. Stop by any time from 10 am-2 pm to drop off your paint. You don’t even have to leave your vehicle.
