Mark your Calendar for Our 11th Annual America Recycles Day (ARD)

The Global Paint for Charity, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful, and Gwinnett County Solid Waste Division and Partners would like to invite you, your friends, family members, and your neighbors to our 11th annual America Recycles Day (ARD)  celebration on Saturday, November 5, 2022, from 9 AM-Noon (12 pm) at Coolray Field (2500 Buford Dr, Lawrenceville, GA 30043-2104), home of the AAA Gwinnett Stripers, the Atlanta Braves affiliate in Lawrenceville.

It is one of the largest national initiatives to keep Gwinnett County Beautiful. We are very excited to provide this suitable event to the residents. The global pandemic caused many people to renovate their homes, which resulted in tons of leftover paint in their basements.  Do you have leftover latex paints from your spring and summer renovation projects that you can’t get rid of? Huff!! Huff!! ) Well, we have some good news for you.  Donate your leftover paints and help us change lives.

Here are some reminders before you come:

  • Latex paint and Oil-based will be accepted and limited to 10 gallons and five buckets per vehicle. Make sure you seal the lid of the containers (buckets and cans) tightly.
  • Paper shredding is limited to five copier paper boxes per vehicle.
  • Electronics recycling is free except for TVs, monitors, and printers – ($35 cash fee for projection or console TVs, $15 cash fee per flat screen TV or computer monitor, and $5 cash fee per printer.
  •  Used tires are limited to eight per vehicle – tires must not have rims attached, be covered in mud, or be filled with water.

All attendees must remain in their vehicles at all times.

  • Items and materials to be recycled should be placed in disposable containers or boxes
  • Containers (Buckets or Cans of paint) or boxes of quarts should be placed on the trunks or backs of vehicles, where they will be removed by Global Paint representatives and will not be returned.

This level of preparedness and awareness will enable a safe and successful event for everyone. For more information, please call the Solid Waste Call Center at 770.822.7141 or Global Paint for Charity at 855-853-7772.

Since 1997, waste management agencies and communities across the country have come together in November to celebrate America Recycles Day. One day, we will get our neighbors, friends, and community leaders excited about what can be accomplished when we all work together to keep our planet clean and beautiful. One event to make recycling a more unique and fashionable day than any other day of the year.

Volunteer opportunities: Registration is encouraged.

If you are looking for some community service hours or an exciting activity to make a difference for America Recycles Day this year, this will be the place to be at. While the event will be from 9 am-noon, volunteers are needed from 7:30 am to 1 pm to help set up and unload the vehicles and from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm to help unload the paint donation at Global Paint’s Center. If you arrive later than 8 am, you will not be able to volunteer, so if you want to help with this opportunity, please arrive early. The minimum commitment is 5 hours, and all volunteers will receive a free America Recycles Day T-shirt, PPE, masks, gloves, and a safety vest. To sign up as a volunteer for this event, please register on this site or visit Volunteer – Global Paint for Charity, or click https://www.globalpaints.org/volunteer/
