Global Paint for Charity Earns Charity Navigator’s Highest 4-Star Rating

We are proud to announce that Global Paint for Charity has earned a 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator for the first time in our organization’s history. This is the highest distinction awarded by America’s largest and most trusted independent nonprofit evaluator, recognizing organizations that demonstrate exceptional financial stewardship, accountability, transparency, leadership, and measurable community impact. For us, this recognition is far more than a rating; it is a powerful validation of the trust that our donors, volunteers, board members, corporate partners, and communities have placed in our mission over the past sixteen years.
Charity Navigator is relied upon by more than 11 million donors each year and has evaluated more than 229,000 nonprofit organizations using independent data and rigorous performance standards. Its platform helps individuals, corporations, and foundations make informed charitable giving decisions with confidence. Through Charity Navigator’s Giving Basket alone, tens of thousands of donors contributed more than $41 million to over 25,000 charities during fiscal year 2024, demonstrating the platform’s growing influence in directing philanthropic investments toward trusted organizations.
For Global Paint for Charity, this recognition comes at a particularly meaningful time. Like many nonprofits, we continue to navigate a challenging economic environment where inflation, rising fuel prices, and global supply chain disruptions have significantly increased operating costs. Every day we receive requests from schools, churches, nonprofits, disaster recovery organizations, and underserved communities around the world seeking paint to restore classrooms, homes, sports facilities, hospitals, and community centers. While paint is generously donated by manufacturers, retailers, contractors, and homeowners, transportation remains our greatest challenge.
Every paint pickup requires trucks, drivers, insurance, fuel, and logistics coordination. As fuel prices continue to rise, the cost of collecting surplus paint has increased substantially. Likewise, international shipping costs remain elevated due to tariffs, global trade disruptions, and limited freight capacity. At the same time, requests for humanitarian shipments continue to grow as countries prepare schools before the next academic year, recover from natural disasters, and revitalize neighborhoods with limited resources. Many of our international partners simply cannot afford the shipping costs required to move donated paint from the United States to the communities that need it most.
Receiving Charity Navigator’s 4-Star Rating significantly strengthens our ability to address these challenges. Many corporations, private foundations, and institutional donors use Charity Navigator ratings as an important benchmark when making funding decisions. This recognition increases confidence among grantmakers and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, positioning Global Paint for Charity to pursue larger grants, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships that will expand our impact.
For our paint donors, this recognition also provides additional assurance that every donation is managed responsibly and directed toward meaningful community outcomes. Whether a company donates 100 gallons or 10,000 gallons of surplus paint, they can be confident their contribution is being transformed into schools, homes, playgrounds, sports courts, churches, hospitals, and community facilities that restore dignity and hope.
Over the years, Global Paint for Charity has diverted millions of gallons of paint from landfills, served communities around the world, and positively impacted more than 15 million lives through environmental sustainability, disaster recovery, workforce development, and community beautification. Every gallon of paint represents more than recycled material; it represents a classroom where children are inspired to learn, a family home restored after disaster, a neighborhood basketball court filled with young athletes, and a community rediscovering pride.
This achievement belongs to every volunteer who loaded paint, every corporate partner who donated surplus inventory, every foundation that believed in our vision, every board member who provided leadership, and every supporter who invested in our mission. You helped make this possible.
While we celebrate this milestone, we recognize that our work is just beginning. The need continues to grow, and so does our commitment to creating a world where no usable paint goes to waste and every community has the opportunity to experience the power of color.
As we look ahead, we invite corporations, foundations, manufacturers, paint retailers, contractors, logistics companies, and individual donors to join us. Together, we can reduce waste, protect the environment, strengthen communities, and bring color, dignity, and hope where it is needed most.
Thank you for believing in our mission. Thank you for helping us earn this extraordinary recognition. Together, we are painting a brighter future, one gallon at a time.
