Harrison Contracting Company Donates 1,700 Gallons of Paint
Our donors are heroes to the thousands whose lives change daily through our initiatives. The Harrison Contracting Company becomes one of them.
We are so grateful to receive a large donation of Latex Paint and a monetary contribution from Harrison Contracting Company (HCC), a commercial painting and facility maintenance contracting service serving the needs of hundreds of customers locally and nationally.
With headquarters in Villa Rica, just outside of Atlanta, Georgia, HCC’s business is divided into commercial painting, facility maintenance, and industrial painting. The company generously donated over 33,750 LBS of discontinued products from very high brands like Sherwin Williams, PPG, and Benjamin Moore to support our humble cause; $ 45,000 worth of paint was donated to Arelious Cooper, Jr. Founder of Art In The Paint, a nonprofit organization specializing in revitalizing outdoor neighborhood basketball courts in Southwest Atlanta and abroad. The paint will renovate and rejuvenate basketball courts and murals in underprivileged communities.
At Global Paint for Charity, we all want to thank Harrison Contracting Company Operations Director Krystle Wilson and her team, who contacted us about the paint donation two months ago. While it may not seem like a big deal to them, it is to us. We can only do what we love with the support and donations from people and companies like Harrison Contracting Company.
The Global Paint for Charity is a nonprofit organization that collects unused paints from businesses and residences in the U.S., then distributes them to vulnerable individuals and families in developing countries worldwide. The organization eliminates the toxic disposal of paint into landfills and fills the needs of the world’s poorer populations. It’s estimated that 80 percent of the third world’s homes and schools have awful and unpainted walls, and over 170 million children have never had access to a painted classroom or playground. We allow underprivileged communities to enjoy the beauty of color through every gallon of recycled paint. Global Paint for Charity remains the largest shipper of charitable paint organizations worldwide, salvaging or reusing nearly 360,000 tons of waste paint intended instead for landfills. Instead, the paint ends up in community murals, on the walls of schools and hospitals, or adding color to homes that impacted 13,000,000 lives in 44 countries in Africa, the Caribbean, Central & South America, and cities right here the U.S. at no charge since 2010.
Our framework caught the attention of the Canadian government’s waste strategy to reduce how much waste ends up in landfills, as well as the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Guidelines.
Donating a Gallon of Paint to Global Paint for Charity means significant savings for you: We offer Tax Savings, Storage Savings, Disposal Savings, and, more importantly, the impact you are making here in the United States and abroad.
And with your tax-deductible financial donation, we can handle the logistics of the paint and assist those in need worldwide.
