Meet Vickie Irwin, our newest Board Member!!
I’m pleased to welcome Vickie Irwin to the Board of The Global Paint for Charity (GPC). At the last meeting, the Board of Directors voted unanimously for Vickie Irwin to join our team. Vickie is leading a team of five supplier development professionals at Georgia Power (Also GPC). Georgia Power is the largest subsidiary of Southern Company, one of the nation’s largest generators of electricity. As a very wise author once said that “color and light go hand in hand” The perfect ability to see an object depends on both the light and color it’s exposed to- To see or differentiate any object you need light and color!
Vickie holds a BBA degree in Accounting from Oglethorpe University, Atlanta, GA, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Project Management Professional (PMP).
Prior to joining Georgia Power, she worked with national organizations in positions of CFO, Director of Franchising, Mergers & Acquisitions, and SVP Global Program Management & Strategy. She enjoys traveling to Florida to visit her two daughters, son in law and granddaughter.
Vickie is very excited to join the Board of Global Paint Charity. I am assured that with her high levels of experience and passion for the cause she will bring another level of structure and expertise to the organization. Make note of Vickie’s face! More information about our other board members can be found on our website or click on this link http://globalpaints.org/board-of-directors.php. With these tremendously passionate and talented individuals, we are looking forward to a brighter future. They have exciting plans for the future and I am delighted that Vickie will be part of our continued progress and success.
We are operating as a conservative board with limited staff, and a large number of volunteers. The time commitment for a board member is significant. We are seeking people who are able to give approximately one to two hours a week to GPC mission.
Much of the work can be completed electronically using e-mail and conference calls. The Board meets in person four times a year.
