Global Paint is seeking partners to help bring color and beauty to the infrastructure and happiness to the people of West Africa through a range of projects. One of such projects is the Basic Schools Beautification program, which seeks to beautify Underserved Basic Schools in Underserved communities through painting.
It’s estimated that 80 percent of the world’s poorer schools face the dreary reality of unpainted walls, and more than 70 million children have never had the opportunity to sit in a painted classroom. Over the years, GPC has donated paints to Africa, including a donation to renovate the Zion Gardens at Nuestra Senora de la Almudena which is the largest orphanage center with over 800 orphans who lost their parents to HIV AIDS in Equatorial Guinea, and early this year, donated 1200 gallons to renovate basic schools in Cameroon, and those to the University of Liberia, towards the University’s resource drive to revamp the buildings on its campuses damaged by the Liberian civil war of 1989-2003. The announcement was well received by the media in Africa and widely reported on major news networks. GPC continues to expand and establish its presence in Ghana, donating 12000 gallons of paint to support our “Basic Schools Beautification programs”, which sought to create a learning-friendly environment by painting 4500 basic schools in underserved communities by 2025. A number of basic schools in Asutifi and EJisu Juabeng Districts are receiving the paints from GPC to paint a total of 300 structures this year, ranging from staff common rooms, kitchen, Headteacher offices, toilets, pavements, play & parade grounds, and classrooms.
Global Paints are expanding to other West African Countries. GPC is however working with representatives in Benin, Senegal, Kenya, Mali, Nigeria, Cameroon, and other NGOs in West Africa to execute a range of projects to change lives and beautify essential structures of basic schools.
Kindly send your organizational details, and how you want to partner with GPC, especially to implement and sustain the Basic Schools Beautification Project in West Africa.
The paint donations from GPC, are expected to reach approximately 5000 Underserved Africa Community Basic Schools within 600 Districts in Africa alone by 2025. These will be selected from 50 communities of interest (Basic School Districts) with 10 Basic Schools each. With Each Basic School painted with 200 Volunteering students, a total of 2500 volunteers across various institutions will have hands-on practical skills improved by 2025. The Program got started on October 20th, 2016.
The Basic Schools Beautification Program is an innovative new ‘project-based learning’ designed to match Colleges with Community development-oriented students with vulnerable communities in Painting needs and sanitation management. The BSBP-Africa concept rests on the idea of a close relationship between academic research and the issues faced by communities and local institutions. It combines cross-cultural communication competencies that are essential to working in local communities, using multiple skill sets that lend themselves well to working on sustainable development projects together.
By helping Global Paint meet these goals to beautify basic schools, you can provide millions of children in Africa a brighter future and create a healthy and learning-friendly environment, as well as a good education in a beautiful school atmosphere.
